Reviewed by Vicki Carver

Lois Anne Williams has lived in Highland County for many years and has established herself as a published author.  In the past few years Williams has written a series of three Christian novels which take place in Highland County from 1805 to the present.  The first two books in the trilogy are Legacy of Courage and Legacy of Love.  The most recent title is called Legacy of Faith.   The third book of the "Legacy" series begins in 1868 with Adam and Lucy Wehler living in the family home on Wehler Knoll, located in the hills of Highland County.  Adam is the proprietor of the family lumber mill which had been started by his father, Benjamin, in the early 1800's. Adam and Lucy both have a strong Christian faith and instill their values in their children, Lucy and Brandon.

Years pass.  The Wehler children marry and eventually Brandon and his wife Leigh maintain Wehler Knoll.  Years later their son Christian and his wife Elizabeth take over the mill and become residents in the Wehler home site.

There are times of joy and times of grief but the Wehler family continues to maintain its strong Christian beliefs.

Christian and Elizabeth have only one child, named Lydia, born in 1936.  The Depression is causing economic woes for many people, and Christian is unable to afford keeping the lovely home at Wehler Knoll.

After over 130 years of ownership, the Wehler home site is taken by the local bank.  Christian and Elizabeth buy a small home in town but hope to reclaim the Wehler home.  Christian dies but Elizabeth clings to their dream.  Eventually their daughter Lydia and her husband Jon find their way back to Wehler Knoll.  Many years have passed and the house is in shambles.  But with their legacy of courage, love and faith the Wehler Family is able to reclaim their ancestral home and create a new life for themselves.
