Hillsboro Summer Reading Program 2006![]()
Children's Department: "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales" - May 23 - July 29
Children can come in and register and get a Summer Reading Log, a Critter for our wall and
a plastic book Bag.Fill Out Your Summer Reading Log and bring it in to get souvenirs along the way.
Bring in your Summer Reading Log and bring it in for an end of Summer drawing.
Register for prizes to be drawn every other week through the summer. Special Summer Guests will Include:
June 3, 10:00am -Karen Land, Dog sled musher, and her Dog, Borage at High School Cafeteria
June 13, 6:30 pm - Ages 2-6 - Old McDonald's Farm - Please Register at the Desk!
June 14, 4:00 pm - Ages 9-12 - B.A.G. Club - Something for Dad - Please Register at the Desk!
June 20, 10:30 am - Ages 3-5 - Ranger Hurd will visit the Library
June 22, 6:30 pm - Ranger Hurd will visit the Library.
June 29, 6:30 pm - Veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Lance will visit the Library.
July 11, 6:30 pm - Clifford the Big Red Dog will visit!
July 13, 6:30 pm - Ronda Friend, Children's Book Author
July 20, 6:30 pm - Mr. Higgins, the Bee Man, will visit and tell us all about honey bees!
July 27, 6:30 pm - End of Summer Reading Club Game Night !

Summer Events
Greenfield Summer Reading Program 2006
Children's Department: "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales" - May 19-
They will get a book bag, bookmark, a reading log, a (temporary!) tattoo & a Wyandot Lake coupon when they register. Also they get prizes for every 10 books read. At the end of summer there will be coupons, special prizes, & a swim party for all who turn in their logs after July 31. Special Summer Events:
Library Camp for children age 4 – grade 4 presented by the YAB teens that will begin on June 7 and go through July 19 – each Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM
June 3 Karen Land, Iditarod Musher with her sled dog, Borage. 1:00 PM
July 13 - Children's author, Ronda Friend- 1:00PM
Aug. 8 - Summer Reading Adventure Swim Party for grade 6 and under.
Aug. 15 - Ronald McDonald will be at the Greenfield Library for a fun program - 6:30 PM
Teens- “Creature Feature”.
Weekly drawings and end of summer drawing on July 31. Teen Contest - they earn points and the teen with the most points will win a Mirage Lamp / Clock The adult theme is “Paws……to Read”.
They also just need to fill out a slip for each book read and put in the drawing box for End of summer drawing- July 31.
There will be programs throughout the summer for all ages, a library camp for children age 4 – grade 4 presented by the YAB teens that will begin on June 7 and go through July 19 – each Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM, special teen programs, and several in-house contests for all ages. It’s always lots of fun – plan to join us!
July 11, 27, & Aug. 3- Barbara Walker from WCET will have workshops for preschool parents & caregivers

June 3, 4:00 - A Real Dog Sled Musher and one of Her Dogs will be at the Library.
June 8, 10:30am - James Carnes, State Wildlife Officer will tell us about skulls, tracks and other animal info!
June 22, Noon - Dr. Sharp, a veterinarian, will bring Clipper the Poodle and share animal stories
July 6, 10:30 am - Barb Graves, Wildlife Specialist will come to the Leesburg Library.
July 13, 10:30 am - Ronda Friend, Children's book author will be at the Library.
July 27, 10:30 am - Ronald McDonald will be with us.
Story Time ScheduleTeens- “Creature Feature”.
