GREENFIELD LIBRARY LINK - January 11, 2012

By Margaret Magee, Branch Manager
Greenfield Public Library

2012 is here and has been a great winter so far. We are decorated for snow here at the library, but it would be OK if we don’t have much outside to go along with it.  We have a fun contest going on & someone will win a Snowman wall hanging.  Just fill out a slip at check out and you may be the lucky one.

Our upcoming events include:

· JANUARY 16 - Library will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

· JANUARY 18 – 5:00 PM - Our adult book discussion group meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday.  The book chosen for this month is a “Readers choice”. Everyone welcome.

· JANUARY 30 – 6:30 PM – Our Genealogy Club meets on the last Monday of the month to learn more about genealogy research.  The program this month is about railroading history in Greenfield.  Everyone is invited.

· FEBRUARY 2 – A stroke support group meets at the library the first Thursday of the month at 11:00 am.  This is presented by the Greenfield Area Medical Center.

· FEBRUARY 6  - 1:00 – 3:00 PM – Beginners Quilting Group.  This group will be led by Anna Tompkins.  This will be our first meeting and it will be a planning meeting.  Everyone welcome to join us.

· FEBRUARY 13  - 3:00 – 5:00 PM – Dawna Jo Kiesling will join us with healthy recipes for the new year..

· STORYTIME – Tuesdays - 11:00 AM - for ages 2 – 4.   Stories, crafts, music, just lots of fun.  Plan to join us.

· DROP-IN CRAFTS FOR KIDS – Check out the monthly crafts that kids can do when they visit the library!

There’s a great display at the library this month.  GEORGE FOLTZ has a collection of railroad memorabilia.  Greenfield has a lot of railroad history, and George has a great collection.  Stop in and check it out.
