Wiki's
- What if you could just ask everyone what you want to
know? Wiki sites are collaborative information resources that allow
anyone to edit and add to information. Wikis are not web search
tools as such, but when searching for information some of these resources
that "anyone can edit" can be timely.
Wikipedia.org is a notable example. Their About section contains a
helpful pointer about quality: "older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer articles may still contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content, or vandalism." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About, a project of the Wikipedia Foundation; June 24, 2006) Similar projects include Yahoo! Answers where you can post questions to be answered by any yahoo out there. Makes for interesting reading at least. |
