Summer Reading Adventure is going GREAT!  Our theme this summer is “Make a Splash – Read”.  We have been having a great time in our Library Camp and Storytimes with this theme.  We have 437 signed up at this time for our summer reading adventure and it’s not too late. You can sign up for fun summer reading anytime through the end of July.  Summer is a great time at YOUR library!

Summer Reading Adventure has begun at the Greenfield Library. Our theme this summer is “Make a Splash – Read”.  Our programs, storytimes and camp will all revolve around the water theme and making a Splash. We had a great Kick-Off Luau on May 15.  We had over 100 sign up for summer reading that day. But it’s not too late, you can sign up for fun summer reading anytime through the end of July.

Only a couple of weeks before summer reading starts here at Greenfield. It’s going to be an exciting summer. Our theme is “Make a Splash – Read”. Our programs and storytimes and camp will all revolve around the water theme and making a Splash. It’s always fun to do ocean and beach themes – makes you feel like vacation is just around the corner. Our kick-off will be a Luau/cook-out on May 15 from 11 am – 2 pm. Children, teens, & adults can sign up that day and get lots of prizes, fun, and refreshments. You, of course, can sign up anytime through the end of July, but the 15th will be the kick-off to a fun summer.
Check out these upcoming events:

  •    * MAY 6 - 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon - STROKE SUPPORT GROUP - this group is for stroke survivors, caregivers, or families of stroke victims. It will be the 1st Thursday of each month and is presented by the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
  • * MAY 15 – 11 AM – 2 PM – SUMMER READING KICK-OFF & LUAU. Come in and sign up for summer reading and enjoy a fun morning. This is for all ages – children, teens, & adults. We have some fun activities planned for all ages.
  •   * MAY 17 & 18 – PERENNIAL EXCHANGE – 10 AM – 7 PM each day. Bring a perennial that you have and  change for a perennial that you do not have. It’s a fun way to make your flower gardens more beautiful and share beauty with others.
  •    * MAY 19 – 5:00 PM - THE BOOKWORMS (adult book discussion group)    The May selection will be A Sorrow in Our Heart, The Life of Tecumseh by Allan Eckert. Stop by, pick up a book & join us. Everyone is welcome.
  • * JUNE 1 – 5:00 – 8:00 PM – CPR CLASS – Debbie Hensley will conduct this free class. There is a limit of 8 people, 8 years old and older, so please call, and pre-register.

* We have great weekly Storytimes:

  • Tuesday– 11:00 am - 2’s & 3’s  & caregiver
  • Thursday– 6:00 pm – 4’s – 6’s.

 They include stories and a craft or activity.

February is not only the month for Valentine’s Day, but it is also LOVE YOUR LIBRARY MONTH. We hope you do love your library and make use of all the items and services that are provided. It is our pleasure to serve you. If you have not stopped in for awhile, come check us out. You’ll be delighted.

   * FEBRUARY 4- 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon - STROKE SUPPORT GROUP- this      group is for stroke survivors, caregivers, or families of stroke      victims. It will be the 1^st Thursday of each month and is      presented by the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
   * FEBRUARY 10 – 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Dawna Jo Kiesling, from the Highland County Extension Office, will be here at the library to share ideas and recipes for healthier eating and money saving ideas as well.
   * FEBRUARY 11 – 12 Noon – 4:00 PM – Free Tax Clinic – If your household income is less than $56,000, the Ohio Benefit Bank willhelp you file your taxes. For an appointment, call 937-393-3458.
   * FEBRUARY 15 – Library will be closed for PRESIDENTS’ DAY.
   * FEBRUARY 17 – 5:00 PM - THE BOOKWORMS (adult book discussion group) –The February selection will be World Without End by Ken Follett. Stop by, pick up a book & join us. Everyone is welcome.
 
   * FEBRUARY 22 – 6:30 PM – GENEALOGY CLUB – This group meets monthly to learn more about genealogy research. Earlene Scott leads this group. Everyone welcome.
   * MARCH 16,23,30 – 6:00 – 8:00 PM – CET WORKSHOPS – Natalie Reeder from CET will present workshops for preschool caretakers. The 3 workshop titles include: Defining an Early Childhood Professional,      Providing the Best Working Environment, & Using Parents as Partners. Please call or stop in and pre-register for these free workshops.
