Homeschool Book Swap @ Lynchburg

The Lynchburg Branch Library is hosting a Homeschool Book Swap on Wednesday, June 9th from 3-5pm. Bring your used curriculum to swap with another homeschool family. If you plan to attend, or you would like more information regarding this event, please contact Michelle Swallen at 364-1304. Free information will be available for those interested in homeschooling and don't know where to start.

Wednesday, May 5 – Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us! We’ll have nacho chips and dip available for snacking throughout the day.
 
Thursday, May 6, 13, 20, 27- Knit Together meets from 5:30-7 PM. New knitters welcome.
 
Monday, May 10Awesome Book Club for 5th and 6th graders meets from 4-5 PM. Book to be discussed is When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. Copies are available at the front desk. This will be the last meeting until school resumes.
 
Tuesday, May 11 & Monday, May 17 – Dawna Jo Kiesling from the Highland County Extension Office will visit us from 10-12 and 12-2 respectively with tips on how to save money at the grocery store.
 
Thursday, May 13 – Sparx Teen Group meets at 5:30 PM. Books being read during the months of May and June are: The Devouring by Simon Holt, Shock Point by April Henry, The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke and Samurai Shortstop by Alan Gratz. Join us and help us plan how we will be celebrating summer reading. Look us up on Facebook under the name Sparx Reader!
 
Thursday, May 20 – Join RRRR for an outing at Moyer’s Restaurant. Reservations are for 11:30 AM. If you want to carpool, please get details at the front desk.
 
Saturday, May 22 – Kids, teens and adults are encouraged to join us for our summer reading Make a Splash! Read! Kick-Off Cookout from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Come in and sign up for the summer reading program for your age group and have lunch on us! If you can’t make it to the picnic you can still sign up for our reading programs throughout the summer. Full details and info at the front desk.
 
Children’s story times continue on Thursday mornings at 10 AM for Wee Ones (6-36 month) and 10:30 AM for Tater Tots (3-5 yrs). Themes for May include: Mother Goose/Mother’s Day, Let’s Go Fly a Kite, and Summer Reading Fun. Call or stop by for more details.
 
We will be closed on Monday, May 31 in honor of Memorial Day. Please remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
