Finding Services for the Blind or Visually Impaired in Highland County

The Highland County District Library has a large collection of large print books; audio books that can be played in most CD or Tape players;  and eBooks that can be downloaded and displayed with larger text.

The Hillsboro Library of the Highland County District Library also has a Video Magnifier that greatly enlarges the text and illustrations of any book onto a video display screen.

Each Library has Internet PCs  with the Microsoft Screen Magnification tools  that help the user to access the web.  Just click on the Start Button at the lower left corner of the screen and choose
> ALL PROGRAMS  then > ACCESSORIES     > ACCESSIBILITY .

The State Library of Ohio Talking Book Program can provide free recorded books, magazines and playback equipment to eligible blind, visually impaired, physically handicapped, and reading disabled Ohio residents. 800-686-1531   State Library Collection of Online Audio Books to be listened to on your computer.
