Meet author Penny Frost McGinnis at the Lynchburg Branch Library!

Jim’s new show, Tales With Tails, is all about animals and animal stories. Aesop's Fables, pets, farm and zoo animals will all make an appearance. Fun for children and parents alike, this exciting show features stories and books mixed with magic, all about animals and books with animal characters. 

Presented by Dave Ackerman and the K-9 Co. 4H Dog Club. Watch some amazing dogs go through their obedience paces and show off their agility chops. NOTE: this program will be held at the Old School Park on Pearl Street. Parking is available at the library parking lot and on Pearl Street at the park.  "Magical Safari” is Mark Wood’s  2021 summer reading show, designed for children of all ages. Mark delights his audiences with  comedy, magic and audience participation. Librarians also love this  exciting library program.

   This 40-min. interactive magic show promotes the importance of reading and features components of 2021’s collaborative theme  - “Tales & Tails”.

Bring in your favorite stuffed pets this week to enter them in our Pet Show! You'll choose a category for your pets and leave them here to be judged and placed as first, second, third, and honorable mentions. Don't worry: We'll take good care of them! For all ages.

Try on larger-than-life costumed tails, morph into different animals then hear a tall tale about two unique local animals. Advance signup is required for this program.
