LuKaylynn McCain is back to show us beginners how to make an apron on our sewing machines. Participants must bring their own sewing machines and two yards of fabric (each yard a different color or pattern). Please call 937-364-2511 to sign up, as space is limited. This is a safe place for people who don't know how to use a sewing machine!

Make the library your first stop on Beggar's Night! Would you like more than just candy on Trick-or-Treat Night in Lynchburg? When you're passing through the library for candy, meet our special guests! Join us on Beggar's Night for a Meet-and-Greet with 3 birds of prey and their friends from Raptor, Inc. They'll be here between 5:30pm and 7pm. The educator will have 1 bird out on the glove at a time and a table with touchable artifacts where guests can approach at their leisure, interact with the educator and take photos. The librarians will give you candy -- you can't lose!

You have a sewing machine...now what? This class is strictly for beginners and will cover the basics, such as cleaning the machine, adjusting the tension, and using the stitches. Each attendee must bring his or her own sewing machine.

Meet our lovely inflatable alien, and think up a name for it. Submit your best, most imaginative name on an entry form. If your name is chosen, you get to take the alien home to live with you!

All ages (little ones will need a caregiver to help) are invited to use their imaginations to build robots from recycled materials. Each robot will be different, reflecting its maker! Take your robot home to live with you after the program.

Aliens: who are they? What are they? Are they even real? The Cincinnati Observatory will delve into these questions and more during this hour program! For all ages.
