Medicaid/Marketplace Insurance Help Workshop @ Rocky Fork

Meet with a certified Medicaid and Marketplace Insurance Navigator, presented by the Freestore Foodbank!

Here is a blurb for our local Navigator, Sara:

"Our new team at Freestore Foodbank is part of the Get Covered Ohio initiative that specializes in supporting people who need to apply for health coverage.

We assist with both Medicaid and Marketplace insurance. Our team helps people understand their health insurance options, enroll in coverage, and help with post-enrollment issues like finding in-network providers. We can assist clients over the phone or virtually with Zoom or in person out in the field in public places such as a public library.

Our program, Get Covered Ohio, is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, so all services are free of charge. Our services are unbiased because Navigators are not compensated by health insurance companies for enrollments.

Even though Open Enrollment ended January 15th, individuals can qualify for special enrollment periods for Marketplace insurance when experiencing life changes such as losing current insurance, moving, and getting married. Also with the end of the public health emergency on the horizon there will be an end to the stay on Medicaid, so many people who were previously covered by Medicaid may find themselves uninsured. The process of getting health insurance can be super overwhelming. We just want to help make sure everyone who needs coverage gets the support the need."
