Live birds of prey are returning this trick-or-treat night to the Lynchburg Branch Library again this year! From 5pm-7pm on Thursday, October 25, come to the library to see these magnificent creatures and get some Halloween candy while you're here! Presenters dressed in Hogwarts robes will feature 3 live avian ambassadors. Up close and personal, you can see and learn about the adaptations which make birds of prey supreme hunters of the sky. The drop-in program will describe raptor diets, habitats, nesting habits and their role in the food web, as well as other interesting topics.

Merry Money must be picked up on or before Monday, November 26 at 7pm in order to shop at the gift shop. No exceptions.

Kids from age 3 to grade six can sign up for Merry Money starting today. At signup, the child is given a reading log to keep track of time read. Every 30 minutes of reading time = $1 Merry Money earned. The Merry Money can be used to shop for real Christmas presents at our Merry Money Christmas Shop. The shop will be open on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10:30am to 2:30pm, and on Monday, Dec.3 from 4-6pm. Please call the library for more information. You must come in to sign up.
